Sum of observations of 15 numbers=42×15=630
No.of numbers = 8
Mean of first 8 numbers =40
Sum of first 8 numbers =40×8=320
No.of numbers =8
Mean of last 8 numbers = 44
Sum of last 8 numbers =44×8=352
8th term = sum of first and last 8 number - sum of total 15
(320+352)-630
=672-630
