Step-by-step explanation:

Mean of 30 observations = 51

Total Value of 30 observations = 51×30 = 1530

What was the mistake done while doing the mean?

Later on, it was detected that by mistake one observation was taken to be 15 instead of 75.

So, Take 15 out from total value of 30 observations

Then, you will get 1530-15 = 1515.

75 has to be added to the mean so that you can get an actual mean

Then, you get 1515+75 = 1590

Now, the actual and correct mean = Sum of the observations / Total no.of observations

=> 1590/30 = 53

Therefore, the correct mean is 53.
