The mean of 5 numbers is 18. If one number is excluded the mean becomes 16. Gind the excluded number.​

Mean=Sum of observations/No. of observations

18=Sum of observations/5

Sum of observations=90

If one number is excluded,

No of observations=4

Mean=Sum of observations/No. of observations

16=Sum of observations/4

Sum of observations= 64

Excluded number= 90-64=26
