Answer:
mean of 5 numbers is 18
(a1+a2+a3+a4+a5) /5=18
sum of all numbers will be 90{5×18}
let a1 be the excluded number
(a1+a2+a3+a4+a5)=90
a2+a3+a4+a5=90-a1
so,
a2+a3+a4+a5/4=16
90-a1=64
a1=26

Step-by-step explanation:
normal method ::
let the sum of no.s be S1
mean=sum /no.of elements
according to sum
18=S1/5
S1=90
Note:this S1 contains that excluded no. also
when 1 no. is excluded then sum be S2
therefore 4 elements are there
S2=16×4
S2=64
excluded no.is S1-S2
90-64=26
short cut:;
5. 18
4. 16
18-16=2
2×4=8
18+8=26
it's exclusively a correct method
