Mean=Sum of the observations / Total No. of observations

x+x+2+x+4+x+6+x+8/5=13
5x+20/5=13
x+4=13
x=9

Here is the answer

We know that,

 \bf{mean }\: \bf{\frac{= \: Sum \: of \: all \: numbers}{total \: \: numbers}}

Given numbers :
x , x + 2, x + 4, x + 6 and x + 8

Total numbers = 5

13 =  \bf{\frac{x +( x + 2 )+( x + 4 )+( x + 6) +( x + 8)}{5}}

 \bf{\frac{5x + 20}{5} = 13}

 \bf{5x + 20 = 5 \times 13} \\ \bf {5x + 20 = 65} \\ \bf{5x = 45 }\\ \bf{ x = 9}

Hence,
The Value of x is 9.
