the mean of numbers 8,11,13,x,5,y,10 is 12. find the valies of x and y.

mean = sum of all observations / total observations

by adding these we get 47 + x + y

then divide this by 7 and = 12 mean of numbers

47+x+y/7=12 cross multiply

12*7 = 47+x+y

84-47 = x+y

37= x + y
