Solution :-

Class interval fi xi fixi

0 - 20 17 10 170

20 - 40 g 30 30g

40 - 60 32 50 1600

60 - 80 24 70 1680

80 - 100 19 90 1710.

Total. fi = (92+g). fixi = (5160+30g)

we know that,

  • Mean = ⅀fixi / ⅀fi .

given that, Mean is 50 .

Therefore,

→ 50 = (5160 + 30g) / (92 + g)

→ 50(92 + g) = 5160 + 30g

→ 50 * 92 + 50g = 5160 + 30g

→ 4600 + 50g = 5160 + 30g

→ 50g - 30g = 5160 - 4600

→ 20g = 560

dividing both sides by 20,

→ g = 28 (Ans.)

Hence, value of g is 28.
