As per the data given in the question,

We have to determine the weight of the sixth student.

As per data given in the question,

It is given that,

The mean weight of students is 40.8 kg.

Number of total student = 6

So, total weight of all six students will be =(40.8\times 6) = 244.8\:Kg

As the weight of first five students are 42.5 kg, 35.7 kg. 38.2 kg, 40,2 kg and 44.5 kg,

So, the total weight of all the five students will be,

(42.5+35.7 +38.2 + 40,2 + 44.5 ) = 201.1\:Kg

So, we can conclude that the weight of sixth student will be sum of  total weight of all six students - sum of  total weight of five students.

So, we will get the weight of sixth student as,

=(244.8-201.1) = 43.7\:Kg
