Let the sum of weights of 16 students = s Kg
We know that mean = 40 Kg
Therefore, s/16 = 40
s = 16*40 = 640
Now, One student left the school whose weight was 25 kg
Total weight of remaining students = s-25 = 640-25 = 615 Kg
mean weight of remaining students = (sum of weights of remaining students)/(number of students remaining)
= 615/15 = 41 Kg
