Let the angle be x + 20

Let the complementary angle be 90 - x

According to the question,

x + 20 = 90 - x

=> x + x = 90 - 20

=> 2x = 70

=> x = \dfrac{70}{2}

=> x = 35

1st angle => x

=> 35°

2nd angle => 90 - x

=> 90 - 35

=> 55°

∴ The angles are 35° and 55° respectively.

Verification :-

x + 20 = 90 - x

=> 35 + 20 = 90 - 35

=> 55 = 55

LHS = RHS ✔✔

Answer: 35 and 55

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the lesser angle be x.

Then the larger angle will be 20 +x .

Complementary angle add upto 90.

A/c to the question,

x+ x+ 20 = 90

⇒ 2x = 90-20 = 70

⇒ x = 70/2 = 35.

Therefore , smaller angle = x = 35.

                  Larger angle = x+ 20 = 35 +20 = 55.
