Melting point ∞ force of attraction
So particle having high melting point will experience high force of attraction.
i.e,
Particle " Z " have high melting point, then " Y " and later " X "
∴ It will be in order ,
                               X < Y < Y

Answer: the magnitude of interparticle forces. The correct is X < Y < Z .

Explanation:

The melting point of the 3 solids X, Y, and Z are 298K, 314K, and 398K respectively.

Arrange these in increasing order of their interparticle force of attraction.

Intermolecular forces are forces that mediate interactions between molecules, including the forces of attraction or repulsion that act between molecules and other types of neighbouring particles, e.g., atoms or ions. Intermolecular forces are weak relative to intramolecular forces - the forces that hold a molecule together.

Molecules with higher melting point will have higher intermolecular forces and hence the order of intermolecular forces is X<Y<Z
