Given : The merchant's file of 20 accounts contains 6 delinquent and 14 non-delinquent accounts.

An auditor randomly selects 5 of these accounts for examination of delinquent accounts,

To Find :  parameters of binomial and distribution

Solution:

Total Accounts = 20

delinquent Accounts = 6

P ( delinquent Accounts ) = p  = 6/20  = 3/10

P(  non-delinquent accounts. ) = q = 1 - p = 1  - 3/10 = 7/10

r randomly selects 5 of these accounts => n = 5

n = 5 , p = 3/10

x = 0 , 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5

P(x) = ⁿCₓpˣ(1 - p)ⁿ⁻ˣ  or ⁿCₓpˣ(q)ⁿ⁻ˣ
