A chair made of metal appears colder because iron being a good conductor of heat, it looses its heat to the surrounding at night. But the wooden chair remains the same because wood is a bad conductor of heat and so no heat is lost from it.

Answer:

colder

Explanation:

In winter, room temperature is very low. So,heat flows from metal chair to the room, making the chair colder.

However, flow of heat from non-metallic substances to the room is relatively less, due to their lower thermal(heat) conductivity.

So,metal chairs are colder than non-metallic substances,in winter.
