Explanation:

We get sound by the vibrations. So what is that is special only about hard metals that tapping them, we get sound. Why on "tapping" air , there is no sound. Is this the question of only the ordered arrangement of atoms in solids and converse in gas?

Because of tapping/beating air; some disturbance would create. Why this disturbance does not propagate like a sound? Or is there a sound produced that isn't in audible frequency range?
