Answer:

a=2 and b=3

midpoint = (2a-2/2,4+2b/2)=(1,2a+1)

:2a-2/2=1 and 4+2b/2=2a+1

:2a-2=2and 4+2b=4a+2

:2a=4...so a=2

substitute a=2 in 4+2b=4a+2

4+2b=10

2b=6

b=3

Hyy Dude

Midpoint of (2a, 4) and (- 2, 2b) is (1, 2a + 1)

x = x1 + x2/2

1 = 2a – 2/2

1 = a – 1

∴ a = 2

y = y1 + y2/2

2a + 1 = 4 + 2b/2

2a + 1 = 2 + b

∴ 5 – 2 = b

∴ b = 3

Therefore, a = 2, b = 3.
