The minute hand of a clock is 14 cm long. The
approximate distance covered and displacement
of the tip of the minute hand during the interval

the time changes from 5:05 pm to 7:20 pm.

Answer:

Length is 14 cm.

From 5:05 to 6:05,there is one complete rotation.

It means distance in this step is 2πr.

from 6:05 to 7:05,again distance is 2πr.

from 7:05to 7:20,distance is 2πr/4.

(bcz shape is half of a semi circle)

So total distance is 2πr + 2πr +2πr/4

on solving.... distance is equal to 198 cm.

displacement only occured in third step.

therefore.... = 2πr/4

=22cm
