Explanation:

The clock will move in a circular motion

The radius if the circle is 12 cm

So circumference= 2πr

= 2×22/7×12

=75.4 cm approx.

Degree covered in 25 minutes=

360/60×25

= 150°

Now, since distance covered in 1° =

75.4/360

= 0.209

Distance covered in 150° =

75.4/360×150 = 31.41 cm ( approx.)

So, the tip of the minute hand will cover a distance of 31.41 cm

Answer:

Correct option is

C

0.0044 cm/sec

Length of minute hand r=4 cm

In 30 minutes, the tip of minute hand reaches diametrically opposite end of the clock.

Thus displacement of tip of minute hand d=2r=8 cm

Time taken t=30 min=30×60=1800 s

So, average velocity v

avg

= td

=

1800

8 cm

=0.0044 cm/s

Option C is correct.
