Hello friend!!!

There are many reasons why parabolic mirrors are used as search lights and not plane mirrors.
Most important ones are
◆The area coverage of spherical mirrors (especially convex mirror) is way too large than the plane mirror. (see the attachment for the coverage area of diff mirrors.)

◆ Parabolic mirrors (especially convex mirror) shows the objects in front of it to be diminished and hence large number of objects can be viewed from the Parabolic mirrors than the plane mirrors.
