Hii CutiePie

When we try to live up to these images, we set ourselves up for failure. I used to think if my home was not perfect, it was not enough. I was doing something wrong. What was I doing wrong that kept me from having things like other people’s homes?! I would go over to someone’s house and they would say “excuse the mess”….but there was no mess. That is sooo annoying btw! If your house is not messy DO NOT SAY “excuse the mess” or else you may cause someone to vomit on the floor from all the fakeness of it all and THEN you WILL have a mess!  If you come to my house on most given days, there will be a mess that really is a mess. Do you know why? It’s not because I do not know WHAT to do. It is not because I CAN’T keep it cleaned all the time. It is simply because I changed my idea of perfection. My current idea of perfection is, when I have advance warning that someone is coming over, I can have the house clean in under an hour. My idea of perfection is having people feel comfortable in my home. My idea of perfection is not fussing constantly over something out of place or crumbs on the counter. One day my kids will move away (I think) and my house will not have as many crumbs and not as much out of place. But it will also be lonelier. I have decided that good enough is perfect for us for now. And THAT allows you to take the corset off and breathe again.
