The flexor muscle perform function just opposite to that of the extensor muscle.

Explanation:

  • for example the bicep is a muscle which is of the flexure component and the extensor component has the tricep muscle. The bicep muscle helps in the folding of the arm which is also known as the flexion of the arm
  • On the other hand the triceps helps in extension of the arm or increasing the length of the arm.  the function of the two muscle are opposite to each other and hence known as antagonistic muscles
