Given equation is
x² - 9x + 14 = 0
We have to find its factors.
x² - 9x + 14 = 0
x² - 7x - 2x + 14 = 0
(x² - 7x) - (2x - 14) = 0
x (x - 7) - 2 (x - 7) = 0
(x - 7) (x - 2) = 0
x - 7 = 0     ,     x - 2 = 0
x = 7          ,     x = 2
Which shows that the factors of the given equations are (x - 7) and (x - 2)
and the roots of are 7 and 2
Hopefully it helps.
Thanks.
