the molecular formula C3H6 andC4H10 which one of the two most show likekly to have addition reaction? justify your amswer amd also give chemical equation to explain the process of addition reaction in this case

C₃H₆(Propene) is a Alkene with general formula CnH2n
so it will form double bond whereas C₄H₁₀(Butane) is a Alkane with general formula CnH2n+2, so it forms single bond.
SO propene(C₃H₆) will more likely to show addition reaction to break the double bond and form alkane.
Hope it helps

HERE IS YOUR ANSWER MATE
(a) C3H6 will show addition reaction as it is an unsaturated hydrocarbon.
(b) C3H6 reacts with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst to give ethane on adding one molecule of hydrogen across carbon-carbon bond.
C3H6 + H2 → C3H8
Vegetable oil reacts with hydrogen in presence of Ni as a catalyst to form vegetable ghee which is a saturated compound
