The molecular weight of O2 and SO2 are 32 and
64 respectively. At 15°C and 150 mm Hg pressure
one litre of O, contains 'N' molecules. The
number of molecules in two litres of SO, unde
the same conditions of temperature and pressur
will be:
(a)N/2
(b) N
(c) 2N
(d) 4N

correct answer is c

can anyone explain it to me.
please answer fast

Answer:

Answer is 2N.

Explanation:

Since it's given that temperature and pressure conditions are the same, the law applicable here will be Avogadro's Law.

Volume occupied by any gas will be directly proportional to the number of molecules present at constant temperature and pressure.

V proportional to N

where V : volume occupied by the gas

N : number of molecules

V / N = V'/N'

VN'= V'N

where V = volume of O2: 1 L

V' = volume of SO2 : 2 L

N = number of molecules of O2

N' = number of molecules of SO2: ?

N'= V'N / V

N' = 2 × N / 1

N'= 2 N

Hope this helps !!
