it will be 1/2 MR^2

Nextly in case of disc go w.r.t to area

saha1234: firstly draw the diagram
saha1234: then let area of disc to be A
saha1234: now calculate mass/ area = M /A
saha1234: now for small dx element its area will be circumference * width
saha1234: A = 2 pie x * dx
saha1234: for mass of dx element M * 2 pie x *dx /A
saha1234: substitute A as pie R^2
saha1234: now dI dx = 2M /R^2 [x * dx * x^2 ]
saha1234: now last step just to integrate this dI dx = 2M / R ^2 integrate from 0 to R ( x ^3.dx )
saha1234: and at last answer will be 1/2 MR^2
