Explanation:

The monsoon season is a blessing and a curse.

This sentence is so true. All of us look forward to the monsoon’s arrival as it provides us reprieve from the summer heat. We love the rains as it brings about cheer everywhere.

The farmers are delighted when the rains arrive on time so that their harvest is abundant. They thank God for showering his mercy. Without the monsoons, all the lakes, rivers and other water bodies would run dry thereby rendering the taps too dry. So, it is with great happiness that we usher on the rains.

But alas, a few days through the monsoon season and all of us start complaining of traffic woes, clogged drains, and roads inundated with water. The storm-water drains clog during heavy rains rendering all the roads with floods.

Working people find it hard to reach their workplace. Most of the roads are in bad shape during monsoons.

The mosquitoes play truant and start spreading all sorts of diseases. These are but minor curses.

Without the monsoons, our troubles will increase manifold, so we should always regard a bountiful monsoon as a blessing.
