Let their incomes be 5x and 4x .
and expenditures be 3y and 2y.
As saving =Income -expenditures
So Muskan's savings=5x-3y
5x-3y=1600 ........(i)
Rahul's saving = 4x-2y
4x-2y=1600 ........(ii)
From (i) and (ii)
5x-3y=4x-2y
5x-4x=-2y+3y
x=y ……(iii)
Put (iii) in (i)
5y-3y=1600
2y=1600
y= 800
So x=800
Monthly income of Muskan=5x
=5×800
=₹4000
Monthly income of Rahul =4x
=4×800
=₹3200
