Savings = 33  1/3%

Savings = (100/3) × 1/100 × 60000 = 20000

Expenditure =  60,000 - 20,000 = 40000

Savings = 60/100 × 48000 = 19200

Expenditure = 28800

ratio of a : b expenditure :

40000 : 28800 = 25 : 18

a : b = 18 : 25

new expenditure of a be x.

Now :

x/28800 = 18/25

25x = 18 × 28800

25x = 518400

x = 518400/25

x = 20736

The new expenditure = 20736

60000 - 20736 = 39264

the savings is increased by :

39264 - 20000 =  Rs 19264
