Answer:

the pocket money of Ravi is 5(80)=400

pocket money of Sanjeev is 7(80)=560

expenditure of Ravi = 9(40)=360

expenditure of Sanjeev =13(40)=520

Step-by-step explanation:

the pocket money of Ravi = 5x

the pocket money of Sanjeev = 7x

the expenditure of ravi = 9y

the expenditure of sanjev = 13y

the amount saved by them =Rs 40 each

5x-9y=40 equation-----1

7x-13y=40 equation ----2

 7x-13y=40

-5x+9y=-40

=2x-4y=0

=x-2y=0

x=2y-----3

using this in 1

10y-9y=40

therefore y=40

5x-9(40)=40

5x=10(40)

x=2(40)=80

therefore the pocket money of Ravi is 5(80)=400

pocket money of Sanjeev is 7(80)=560

expenditure of Ravi = 9(40)=360

expenditure of Sanjeev =13(40)=520
