The monthly salaries of two persons are in the ratio 3:
receives an increase of 200 in monthly salary, the new ratio is 13:21. Find their original salaries​

Answer:

Let their monthly salaries be 3x and 5x.

According to the question,

3x+200= 13x................(i)

and, 5x+ 200= 21x...............(ii)

Adding equation (i) and (ii):-

3x+5x+200+200= 13x+21x.

8x+400= 34x.

400= 34x-8x.

26x= 400.

x =  \frac{400}{26}  \\ x =  \frac{100}{3}

Now, original salaries are

3x = 3 \times  \frac{100}{3}

= ₹100.

5x =  5 \times  \frac{100}{3}  =  \frac{500}{3}

= ₹166.67
