The moon is nearly 385000 km away from the earth.

It completes one complete round in 1 month around the earth.

Assuming earth as a point, the moon revolves around earth in a circle.

Distance covered = perimeter of a circle of radius 385000km

=> Distance = 2πr = 2 × 22/7 × 385000 = 2420000 km

Solution :

Moon Revolves round the earth .

The distance travelled is simply the circumference of circle .

we know that ,

Circumference Of Circle = 2*π*r (where r is radius of Circle)

Here Distance Between earth and moon = Radius of Circle = 385000kms

therefore distance traveled by moon in a month = 2*π*r

=2*22/7*385000 kms

=2*22*55000kms

=44*55000 kms

=2420000 kms
