He also constructed the Red Fort at Agra, City of Fatehpur Sikri, Lahore Fort etc.Jahangir, the son of Akbar also carried his father's tradition of patronizing art and architecture. He constructed a tomb of Akbar at Sikandra.Shah Jahan, the son of Jahangir was popularly known as the "Engineer King" because architectural glory of the Mughal period reached its zenith at his time. He built the historic wonder Taj Mahal, also known as the monument of love. It was built in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.
