hii dear,
when any whole number ,let's say it as 'a' is multiplied by 1. The product is the same number 'a'. 1 is called the multiplicative identity for the whole number.

Eg:- 59 × 1 = 59 (As the number is multiplied by 1, the result is the number itself.)

hope it helps you!!!!
