We will solve this question with the help of Equation of motions i.e.,

2as=v^{2}-u^{2}

Given:

u=882m/s

a=-9.8m/s

On solving, we get:

2as=v^{2}-u^{2}  \\2(-9.8)s=0-(882)^{2}\\ s=39,690m\\s=39.69km

Therefore, 39.69km is the maximum reachable altitutde.
