Nalanda University was renovated by Govt. of India under inspiration of the ex-President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam .
Former president of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam when visited Nalanda and the Ruins Of Nalanda during his tenure, he drafted a proposal of setting up a new university in the same campus of the ruined University and sent to government.
His dream was to renovate the old one at par the standards of ancient Nalanda University. The proposal was approved and currently the new Nalanda university is in action with two departments.
