Geoography is a discipline that is concerned with spatio-temporal phenomena. It combines space and time to analyse issues. It examines how things are changing over time and space.

Common themes in geographical studies are:

Areal differentiation theme: this involves studying inherent characteristics of areas or places which differentiate them from other locations, areas or places.

The landscape theme: this involves studying and closely examining the physical and cultural landscape. It attempts to identify the natural and cultural factors responsible for giving an area or region it peculiar nature.

The man-environment theme: this is concerned with examining the relationship between man and the physical environment. It looks at how man influences the physical environment and how the physical environment in turn affects man and his activities.

The spatial distribution theme: this theme is concerned with the degree of distribution of phenomena over the earth surface.

The geometric theme: this theme examines the geometric properties of space and geographic objects or things that influence them. The concepts related to geometric theme include; spatial form, topology, distance, morphometry, geographical coordinates

Nature and scope of geography with emphasis on geomorphology:

Geography can be considered as an 'interdisciplinary science' which allows observation and investigation of anything disseminated in the Earth space and  developing solutions to problems centred on such analysis.

Geography is divided and classified into physical and human geography of which geomorphology is a part of 'physical geography' and is concerned with the study of the landforms on the surface of the Earth

EXPLANATION:

Geography is an interdisciplinary and holistic field of study involved in comprehending the varying spatial structure from the past to future. Therefore, scope of geography is considered in different 'disciplines', like armed services, water resources, environmental management, meteorology, planning, various social sciences, and disaster management.

Besides, a geographer can help in everyday life such as commuting, tourism, health-related activities, and housing. Geography is divided and classified into 'physical' and 'human geography'. Physical geography is related to the study of any physical phenomena, including other fields such as geology, zoology, chemistry, and meteorology. It has many sub-branches one of which is geomorphology that is related to the study of landforms on the surface of the Earth. It encompasses basis and landforms development by way of erosional, depositional and transportation processes of wind, water, and glaciers.
