Mahatma Gandhi was Nominated for Nobel peace Prize. Gandhi ji was nominated in 1937, 1938, 1939, 1947 and 1948. In 1948 Gandhi ji was about to receive nobel peace prize but before two days of world peace summit he was assassinated by Godse. so on that year the nobel committee did not gave peace prize to any candidate by saying that "there is no suitable candidate."
