The nature of gas is highly compressible than liquids because interparticle space in gases are very high as their interparticle force of attraction is very low, so they can be eaisly compressed.
Ex, oxygen can be compressed into liquid oxygen by increasing pressure and decreasing temperature.

The nature of gases are highly compressible because of the large distance and small force of attraction between them . As solids have greater intermolecular forces , we can not compress ( chair , table etc. ) liquids have inter molecular forces more than gases but less than solids and gases have the least inter molecular forces..
