The new varieties of plants are produced by selection and hybridization process.

● In order to cultivate new varieties of plants first one have to select the plants with desirable characters.

● After selection of plants with desirable characters one have to cross pollinate the flowers of the selected plants which is called as hybridization.

● Later the F1 hybrid has to be checked for the desirable characters and then cultivated on a large scale.
