The normal BMI range for adults is “D” 19 to 25.
BMI is actually calculated by dividing a person’s weight (taken in Kgs.) by the square of height (taken in metres).
BMI will not measure the body fat directly but is very close to it. Many research has shown that BMI can be correlated with direct measurements of the body fat that is taken from the skinfold thickness, densitometry, bioelectrical impedence etc.
In general, it can be easily said that this is the simplest way to understand which category you fall in according to your current weight like underweight, normal, overweight and obese.
