Normality =molarity×n -factor

And for any phosphorus containing

acid ,n-factor =(no.of o-atoms-1)=(4-1)

=3.

Molarity =0.1M

NORMALITY=0.1×3=0.3N

Hope it helps

Given: Molarity of H₃PO₄ = 0.1 M

To Find: Normality of H₃PO₄ = N=?

Solution:

Formula used:

  • Normality=Molarity × Number of equivalent H or acidity
  • 3 H atoms present hence acidity = 3

Applying the above Formula

N = 0.1 × 3

N = 0.3N

Hence, Normality of 0.1 M solution of H₃PO₄ = 0.3N
