As cold winds are blocked by the Himalayas , the temperature also rises.

The Northern Plains is also more nearer to the equator as compared to the Himalayas which also adds to the rise in temperature within the region as the rays of the sun fall more parallel in this region as compared to the Himalayas.

Because of various factors that add to the increase of temperature within the region , Snowfall is not possible here .

Though the North Eastern state faces the coldest season among the states in the Northern Plain , still temperature does not decrease to such a level for Snowfall to occur.
