Yes, nucleus plays a significant role in the transmission of genetic traits as inside nucleus there is a nucleolus which contains chromosomes. Now this chromosomes contains special proteins known as DNA which contains hereditary information. These information passes to the next Generation. And these are only called the genetic traits.
