It is given that

50 , 42 , 41 , 35 , 2x + 10 , 2x - 8 , 12 ,

11 , 8 , 6 are in deceneding order.

Number of terms = n = 10 ( even )

Median = avg of [n/2 and ( n/2+1 )th]

terms

= Avg [ 5th, 6th ] terms

= [ ( 2x + 10 ) + ( 2x - 8 ) ] /2

= ( 4x + 2 ) /2

= 2x + 1 ----( 1 )

Median = 25 ----( 2 ) [ given ]

( 1 ) = ( 2 )

2x + 1 = 25

2x = 25 - 1

2x = 24

x = 24/2

x = 12
