Question Should be:

  • The number of boys and girls in a class in ratio 9:6 .The no. of boys are 5 more than no. of girls. What is the total class strength.

ANSWER:

GIVEN:

  • The number of boys and girls in a class in ratio 9:6.
  • The number of boys are 5 more than number of girls.

TO FIND:

  • Total strength of the class.

SOLUTION:

Let the ratio of boys and Girls be 6x and 9x.

According to Question:

=> Number of Boys = Number of Girls + 5

=> 9x = 6x+5

=> 9x-6x = 5

=> 3x = 5

=> x = 5/3

Total strength = 6x+9x

= 15x

= 15(5/3)

= 25.

✰✰ ANSWER ✰✰

\longmapsto\tt{Let\:Ratio\:of\:Girls=6x}

\longmapsto\tt{Let\:Ratio\:of\:Boys=9x}

A.T.Q : -

As given that No. of boys are 5 more than no. of Girls : -

\longmapsto\tt{9x=6x+5}

\longmapsto\tt{9x-6x=5}

\longmapsto\tt{3x=5}

\red\longmapsto\:\large\underline{\boxed{\bf\green{x}\orange{=}\purple{\dfrac{5}{3}}}}

\longmapsto\tt{No.\:of\:Girls={\cancel{6}}\times\dfrac{5}{\cancel{3}}}

\longmapsto\tt{\large{\boxed{\bold{\bold{\red{\sf{15\:girls}}}}}}}

\longmapsto\tt{No.\:of\:Boys={\cancel{9}}\times\dfrac{5}{\cancel{3}}}

</p><p>\longmapsto\tt{\large{\boxed{\bold{\bold{\green{\sf{15\:Boys}}}}}}}

So, Total Strength is 15+15=25....
