Solution :-

Let

• Number of girls in the class be x
• Number of boys will be x + 7

Here

• Total strength of the class is 49

According to question :-

⇒ x + x + 7 = 49

⇒ 2x + 7 = 49

⇒ 2x = 49 - 7

⇒ 2x = 42

⇒ x = 42/2

⇒ x = 21

Now

• Number of girls = x = 21
• Number of boys = x + 7 = 21 + 7 = 28

Verification :-

⇒ x + x + 7 = 49

⇒ 21 + 21 + 7 = 49

⇒ 21 + 28 = 49

⇒ 49 = 49
