Answer:

24

Step-by-step explanation:

let boys be y and girls be x

2x-3=y--------------equation 1

Given,y=15

Putting the value in equation 1:-

2x-3=y

2x-3=15

2x=15+3

2x=18

x=18/2

x=9

Total no.of students=X+y

=9+15

=24

ashi2103: see dear it is mentioned in the ques that twice the no.of girls boys are 3 less
ashi2103: twice the no.of girls(x)=2x
diyagoyal891gmailcom: dear it's only a situation
diyagoyal891gmailcom: given
ashi2103: 2x-3 = 15 is the correct equation
diyagoyal891gmailcom: yaa
ashi2103: yaa but in linear equations u hv to proceed by the situation given
ashi2103: so ur ans is with me or against.me?
diyagoyal891gmailcom: against
ashi2103: ok

\mathfrak{\large{\underline{\underline{Answer :-}}}}

The students in the Class are 24.

\mathfrak{\large{\underline{\underline{Explanation :-}}}}

Given :

Number of boys = 3 less than the Twice of the number of girls

Total Boys = 15

To Find :

The total number of students in the class

Solution :

Consider the number of girls as x

{\boxed{\sf{2x-3=15}}}

\sf{\implies} \: 2x - 3 = 15

\sf{\implies} \:2x = 15 + 3

\sf{\implies} \:2x = 18

\sf{\implies} \:x =  \dfrac{18}{2}

\sf{\implies} \:x = 9

Girls in the Class = 9

\rule{300}{1.5}

Total Number of students in the class =

  • Girls = 9
  • Boys = 15

\sf{\implies} \:9 + 15

\sf{\implies} \:24

\therefore The students in the Class are 24.
