Heyy!! Here is the answer
Final Result : p/q = 3/16.
i.e.q-p = 16-3=13

Let the number of boys and girls be 'x'.
Total no. of students = x + x = 2x
According to the question ,

No. of boys withdrawn the course = x/4
And
No. of girls -------------------------------- = x/8

Total no. of students withdrawn the course :
= x/4 + x/8
= 3x/8

Now, finally

Fraction of children who withdrawn from the course =
( Total no. of students who withdrawn the course )/ ( Total no. of students)

= (3x/8)/(2x)
= 3/16
