Time and work

Given:

It takes 15 days for 2 men to repair the house. Number of days needed in repairing is inversely proportional to the number of men working.

To find:

Number of men are needed to complete the job in 6 days.

Explanation:

Let the work done by one men in 1 day be  =\frac{1}{x}

So work done by 2 men in 1 day will be  \frac{2}{x}

Work done by both men in 15 days is  \frac{30}{x}

Hence the job is 30/x

let the number of men needed is y,

so total work done = product of number of men and number of days and efficiency of work done by a men.

\frac{30}{x} =y\times6\times(\frac{1}{x})\\\\30=6y\\\implies y=5\  men

Hence 5 men will be needed to complete this job.
