The number of electrons increases in the outer shell as we move from left to right in a period , why does the atomic size of an atom decreases

it's because when we go from left to right in period the 1 electron is get added in outermost shell and because of this the nucleus charge of attraction is increased on outermost electrons so the radius of atom is goes on decreasing as we go left to right in period and thereby the size
