= Let the no. of boys be x .

Given , no. of girls = 120 + x

= Total no. of students = 980

Therefore ,

ATQ ,

(120+x) + x = 980

=> 120 + x + x = 980

=> 120 + 2x = 980

=> 2x = 980 - 120

=> x = 860/2

=> x = 430

So , no. of girls = 120 + x

= 120 + 430

= 550

Answer = There are 550 girls in the school .
